An Interactive Web Platform on Specialties in Economics

Economics, like all other disciplines, is not a homogeneous whole : it is divided in specialties. Furthermore, the identity and relationships of these specialties are dynamic. This talk presents an interactive web platform that allows the user to explore the dynamic structure of economics specialties from the late 1950s to today. The platform, which was made possible by the financial support of the HES, is freely available here.

We will discuss the method used to generate the platform, its usefulness for research in the history of economics and the ways to extend it to make it more powerful.
