Jacob Hamel-Mottiez
Diplômé de la maîtrise en philosophie à l'Université de Laval
2023-2025
Biography
It is with a marked interest in science that Jacob completed his college studies in the natural sciences. Undecided and curious to broaden his horizons, he studied at university several fields such as engineering, architecture and philosophy. It is finally his passion for this last discipline that will make him begin a bachelors degree at the University of Sherbrooke. To this day, it is the questions at the intersection of philosophy and science that arouse the main interest of his research.
In his role as a research assistant, Jacob is interested in the epistemology of think tanks. Specifically, he studies mentions of these think tanks in the Canadian media and how journalists characterize them. Fundamentally passionate about the way research is presented to the public, he wishes through his work to contribute to a critical evaluation of the presentation of information.
