Biography

Pamela received a bachelor’s degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal combining sociology, social sciences and philosophy. She is currently a master’s student in Philosophy at the Université de Sherbrooke.

Her research interests cover cultural sociology, sociology of social inequality, virtue epistemology, social epistemology, social philosophy, political philosophy and philosophy of science. Her research project concerns epistemic injustices such as the testimonial injustice and the hermeneutical injustice exposed by philosopher Miranda Fricker along with the social inequality reproduction mechanism inspired by Pierre Bourdieu’s theory. She attempts to get the best out of Fricker’s conceptual innovation by combining the rich potential of virtue epistemology and sociology of inequality’s literatures. Precisely, she aims to elaborate an enriched conceptual framework to understand the interaction between epistemic injustices and other forms of domination.
